About the work

This painting is an interpretation of Van Gogh’s Sunflower. I was wondering  how he would have painted it in 21 century?! As the sunflower is a rotating flower, which rotates from morning till evening, from Est to West, I wanted to catch and include this rotation in the painting, too. I used common, ordinary and rotating working stuffs, such as sandpaper wheel, grinding wheel, polishing wheel, but I remained at the traditional painted art feeling. I also wanted very much to use a clock on this work, (which works correctly) to show the present time, feeling the pressure of the ticking time which eats the future with every second, but remembers of the past, too! The present time is a transit time between past and future! Also, some original sunflower seeds got place on this painting, on the left sunflower, …and that is how got together this interpretation, where can be find the movement, the time and rotation, too , and all in Van Gogh’s colours.
