About the work
The main inspiration for this work was my daughter Sarah Michelle and has a personally story. We agreed that she is a big girl now and doesn’t need the pacifier anymore. I promised her, if she will leave it, I make a drawing and stick it on canvas to be able to see it every day and she could even show it to her friends, to be proud of her. Upon hearing this, leaned against the wall and she threw it on the ground. This moment can be seen on canvas.
In this drawing dominates the hard black lines made with 8B Pitt, The dress of Sarah Michelle is coloured and makes the difference. In center of attention stays her curious face and look, which shows interest for our agreement, but I was also focusing on her casually tied up, but still childish hair. The lambskin carpet beneath of her feet also got an important role as weight and stability. The static composition is crossed by two diagonal lines which are perpendicular to each other and makes this work more interesting. The pacifier is glued on the canvas, (left-downside) which keeps the balance with the gold door handle part, placed diagonally on upper right corner.
On this drawing appeared at first time the ready-made in my works!
Sarah Michelle proudly keeps this work in her room.
